About Us
The business was established in 2014 under the Thuso Risk Advisors (Pty) Ltd (“ThusoRA”) brand by a group of professionals and the support of one of the top insurance companies in South Africa. The main purpose was to develop an incubation “hub “for black insurance brokers to assist in addressing the various economic and industrial challenges faced by black brokers in South Africa.
The partnership ended in 2016 when a new ownership and management agreement was signed. The business rebranded under the name Lunati Risk Advisors (“LunatiRA”) since then, LunatiRA has offered the South African market, personal insurance, commercial insurance, and niche products. The latter services include credit insurance, construction bonds specialised liability insurance and guarantees, from different product providers and specialist underwriting managers.
LunatiRA is a proudly Black-owned company, known equally for the extensive and wide-ranging expertise in insurance and for the ability to meet the business needs not traditionally fulfilled by SA’s commercial insurance firms.
